The Kingdom of God in the Synoptic Gospels as an Object and Source of Hope
Sluka, Jiří ; Brož, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Scarano, Angelo (referee)
The work has three main parts, one on the kingdom of God, one on hope, and one on the relationship between the kingdom of God and hope. The first part looks for all occurrences of the word "kingdom" in the New Testament and examines the differences between the terms "kingdom of God", "kingdom of heaven", and "kingdom of the Father". It then turns its attention to the meaning and content of the term kingdom of God. The section on hope presents historical and contemporary definitions of hope, types of hope according to psychological research of the last two decades, looks for the difference between the object and the source of hope, describes the specifics of Christian hope, and looks for reasons why the word "hope" does not appear in the Gospels. In the next section, the thesis defines 16 classes of statements about the kingdom of God in the Synoptic Gospels, categorizes each verse into groups, and evaluates them according to their relationship to hope. It locates and presents the principles, called the building blocks of Christian hope, that are based on the kingdom of God presented by Jesus in the Synoptic Gospels. It then draws from the results the benefits of hope for people in their efforts to enter the kingdom of God. The paper also presents some Gospel passages about the kingdom of God that...

In thesis "The message and life of Jesus Christ - pedagogic preparation of curriculum according to Bavarian Lehrnplan for religion classes of German high schools" I've delft into exegesis of selected themes from the New Testament theology. When working with the New Testament, I baist my research according to handling of text named "Kulturwisssenshaft", which was developed by prof. dr. Sandra Huebenthal of Passau University. I chose this method because I had the opportunity to attend course by prof. dr. Heubenthal, which dealt with these aforementioned method. For each subject I prepared pedagogical materials for religion classes. I thought about how would I approach teaching these subjects. I chose such teaching methods with which I have personal experience from using them in practice.

Did Luke Write also for the Non-Believers?
Kunstová, Mária ; Roskovec, Jan (advisor) ; Pokorný, Petr (referee)
New Testament writings were mostly adressed to the church for education, spiritual formation and liturgical purposes. Concerning Lukan work, there are several different theories about its possible intended readers out of church. These theories could be divided into three groups: 1. Theories about Lukas writing literature which was to be published and distributed in the common book market, 2. theories about possible political intentions of Luke's work and 3. theories about Gentiles who believed in one God and sypathised with Judaism. The work focuses on the whole Lukan cycle - both Gospel according to Luke and Acts. It attempts to find the answer to the question if Luke wrote also for non-Christian audience. It deals with particular Introduction topics (author, date of composition, unity and purpose) and soteriology of the two books. It uses with synoptic comparison and contains exegesae of chosen biblical texts. In this thesis we went into details about relatively great number of passages with the goal to attain the global point of view. At the beginning we justified why to look for the inspiration in the life of Jesus Christ. Then we focused on Jesus' political principles. We treated conflicts between John the Baptist and Herod Antipas and conflicts between Jesus and political and religious leaders of his days. We focused mainly on the conflicts connected with the Jewish Law and paying taxes. Then we treated the conflict between Jesus and Pilate, which ended in Jesus' crucifixion. Then we briefly touched on the Paul's point of view and we mentioned several examples of the persecution of the Christians from the pagans. At the end we made an attempt to resume briefly what the New Testament says about the relationship of the Christians to the political power and we joined the short mention about the relationship between the Church and the state in the social doctrine of...
